VDC Research gives away ‘Best of show’ awards at each of the tradeshows it attends with winners determined by expert industry analysts who walk the tradeshow floors and visit with exhibitors to learn more about the technologies and products. More than 872 international companies exhibited at Embedded World 2012.
The iDigi Cloud offers massive scalability and instant connectivity to network-connected devices, providing the infrastructure required to access and control devices over the Internet while offering a high degree of reliability and security.
According to Jared Weiner, analyst for VDC Research's Embedded Software and Tools Practice, Digi was chosen for the award because its new Android development kit can help lower the barrier of entry for designers who wish to use Android for their wireless product designs.
He adds that the integration of the iDigi Device Cloud is also unique because it allows organisations to create cloud connected devices.
Larry Kraft, senior vice president of global sales and marketing, Digi International comments the iDigi will enable device manufacturers to create cloud connected devices that offer significant product differentiation.
He adds that the award demonstrates the importance of enabling easy and cost-effective embedded Android, which allows customers to connect to the iDigi Device Cloud, and organisations to cloud-enable their devices using a single line of software code.
