DOMINION Electronics has announced the new Intellicom Series from Z-World. This low-cost terminal is claimed as the only operator interface in its price class with built-in I/O and ethernet connectivity.
Being C-programmable, it provides OEMs complete design flexibility to create a custom operator interface. The Intellicom Series offers direct connection to a 10BaseT ethernet network and communicates with serial devices via RS232 or RS485.
Full TCP/IP source code is provided (royalty free) with Dynamic C Premier software on CD-ROM complete with IMCP, HTTP (includes facilities for SSI, CGI routines, cookies, and basic authentication), SMTP, FTP, and TFTP (client/server) capabilities.
Also included are ethernet drivers for Realtek NE2000 chipset so OEMs can directly write to TCP or UDP sockets to develop custom applications.
Standard features include a high-visibility 4x20 character display with backlighting for character legibility and a tactile feedback 2x6 keypad with a customisable legend.
RS232 and RS485 serial ports offer fast communication over both short and long distances. Eight general purpose I/Os provide control functionality.
Additional features include Flash and 128k SRAM as well as an internal variable frequency and volume speaker. The Intellicom Series is also water resistant when panel mounted using the supplied gasket and can be wall-mounted with its impact-resistant plastic enclosure.
The Intellicom Series offers two versions: The Intellicom OP6700 is a full-featured display complete with ethernet interface and 512k Flash. The Intellicom OP6600 is suitable for OEMs that do not require ethernet, and comes with 256k Flash. Dominion Electronics 02 9906 6988.
