Diversified Exhibitions Australia announces that AOG has won the award for Best Trade Show Over 10,000m² at the Exhibition and Event Association of Australasia (EEAA) Awards for Excellence held recently.
The Australasian Oil & Gas Exhibition & Conference (AOG) has won top honours at the exhibition industry’s awards show for the second year in a row.
AOG scored over some of Australasia’s leading trade shows to claim the honour at the gala event held at Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, which recognised outstanding achievement and innovation in the exhibition industry.
The announcement marks back-to-back wins for the oil and gas exhibition, which collected the same award along with the title of Best Australian Show at the EEAA Awards in 2009.
Exhibition Director, Bill Hare said that the award capped off another record-breaking year, which saw AOG eclipse its results from 2009, drawing an unprecedented number of exhibitors and achieving a 26 percent increase in visitor numbers.
Mr Hare also acknowledged the assistance of the Government of Western Australia, City of Perth, Society for Underwater Technology (SUT) and Subsea Energy Australia in making AOG 2010 a record-breaking success.
One of 14 awards presented at the awards night, the Best Trade Show category was judged on criteria such as visitor and exhibitor research, promotional campaign, innovation as well as results to budget.
AOG 2011 will take place at Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre in February with more than 400 companies including many of the world’s oil and gas giants already confirmed as exhibitors.
