A NEW series of pull lock open centre chucks has been released by Kitagawa, a Japanese manufacturer of machine tool work holding equipment.

The new range is available from Dimac Tooling , Australian and New Zealand agent for the Kitagawa line.

Known as the Kitagawa PUB series there are three model choices which all feature a big through-hole in the chuck and are designed for machining couplings, gears, drive or axial shafts.

The three models are 6", 8" and 10" diameters and feature bore sizes of 39, 50 or 72mm, respectively.

A feature of the design is the powerful gripping action of the jaws coupled with the ability to pull the workpiece back on to locators, which significantly increases the holding force and rigidity for machining.
