Dickies Workwear is introducing several new products for 2014 including a flame retardant range.
A specialist in workwear manufacturing for over 90 years, Dickies continues to combine style, functionality and quality to drive its business forward, and is a brand trusted by generations of workers. Employing the latest developments in fabric technology and manufacturing techniques, Dickies’ high performance workwear is suited for harsh working environments.
Dickies is now launching a brand new Flame Retardant (FR) range for 2014 with exciting new design features and new and innovative fabrics. A complete review of sizing, fit and comfort factors was paramount in the development of the new flame retardant workwear to ensure workers were both comfortable and safe.
Workers in the energy sector can now take advantage of a mixture of well-known tried and tested fabrics through to state-of-the-art inherently FR fabrics in their workwear. Clever design innovations include ergonomic knee pad pockets and a comfort waistband feature that allows workers to individually adjust their coverall waist for an exact fit, helping to improve appearance and crucially, movement and safety.
The 2014 collection will also include an exciting new two tone range with features such as reflective piping and high quality functional fabrics.
Key features of the new parka jacket in the collection include a removable hood, removable fur, a tail hem for extra back warmth, and double access lower pockets to keep the hands warm when not working. The nylon taslon fabric construction makes the parka waterproof, durable and light to wear. A Sherpa collar lining inside the coat keeps the neck warm.
Dickies’ new collection also includes a softshell jacket with a hood made from a waterproof fabric to 8000mm and breathable to 1000mvp. The fit of the jacket has been designed so that it sits closer to the body than Dickies’ alternative soft shells but with adjustable hem to cater for all customers.
For a mid layering piece there is a micro fleece in 260gsm, which ensures it is lightweight but functional. Thumb loops ensure that the whole upper hand is covered when not working.
A new polo shirt completes the two tone collection and features contrasting panels to each side in 100% cotton pique, 200gsm for ease of wear and comfort.
Dickies’ Redhawk range for 2014 will include a new chino in the popular Redhawk 260gsm poly/cotton fabric with no exposed metal, making it suitable for use in the mechanical industry. The Redhawk Pro Short incorporates the styling and functionality of the Pro trousers but in a shorter version, serving the customer who needs holster pockets while working in warmer weather. Dickies will also be introducing the navy colourway to the Redhawk Pro trouser range.
The Eisenhower range for 2014 includes the Eisenhower Max trouser, which is positioned midway between the Eisenhower multi pocket trousers and Redhawk Pro multi pocket trousers in terms of cost and technical detailing. The trousers are made from a 65% polyester, 35% cotton canvas mix in 285gsm, and are heavier than the Redhawk Pro.
Key features of the Eisenhower Max trousers include new Cordura kneepads and trims for appearance as well as high performance, Cordura on the hem guard to minimise wear and tear, fit similar to the Redhawk Pro, triple stitched seams for extra strength to high stress areas, top loading knee pad pockets to make knee pad insertion easy while working, and reflective piping to add a stylish detail.
Dickies will also introduce the Glenwood softshell jacket featuring a waterproof and breathable fabric, contrasting panels, and reflective zip details.
Dickies’ premium thermal set in the 2014 collection consisting of the top and the legging is seamless in construction. Each panel on the garment has a different technical function. The knee and elbow panels help to keep the joints warm when not moving by gently massaging and the side/underarm panels help with the breathability of the garment keeping moisture collection at bay.
Dickies’ 2014 workwear collection includes half finger gloves designed for extra warmth, with removable glove pouch to keep the fingers warm when not working and a jersey rib cuff for comfort.
Dickies’ brand new range of safety footwear in PU/rubber sole includes an S3 boot in three colours. PU/rubber soles are more durable and certified to HRO. Dickies is also introducing an ESD trainer for the first time to suit people working in an electronic industry. With increased demand for ladies’ safety footwear, Dickies has expanded the range with the addition of new dual density PU/PU shoe and a boot.
