DEXION plans to move each of its 13 franchises from industrial locations into semi-retail areas. The storage stores will provide storage products for factories, workshops, warehouses, storerooms, garages, shops, offices, vehicles and homes.

In the short term the plan is to have a “one stop storage store” in every major city, based on the Dexion Dandenong facility which opened in August 2004. It provides the template in terms of office style, showroom capacity, main road visibility, off street parking and warehouse space. All show rooms will have a similar look and layout and will eventually function as training centres. Dexion will ensure all staff are trained to interact with the public and provide expert advice.

Following the launch of the Ultima shelving system in 2004 Dexion is planning to launch DIY benches and shelving as well as small parts bins and storage solutions.

The franchise network will increase in number with new stores to be opened in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane in 2005. These will eventually be complemented by a network of regional sub-distributors, an online store and mail ordering facilities.
