Sub-millimetre accuracy plasma cutters
DESIGN Correlations will be introducing the versatile NCPlaz compact plasma cutter on Stand 1902 during the 2006 Queensland Manufacturing Technology Exhibition (QMan), at the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre, October 17-19.
The new cutter is available in various specifications from the basic Workhorse model to high-definition format with performance comparable to laser cutters.
NCPlaz has a footprint of only 1.5m by 2.1m. The Workhorse range starts at $29,000, while the high-definition option is around $80,000, depending on specification.
Hypertherm plasma cutters, ranging from PowerMax 600 to 1650, enable the Workhorse to cut up to 16mm steel sheet to sub-millimetre accuracy right across the cutting bed.
For high definition performance, NCPlaz is fitted with Hypertherm HPR130, which will cut stainless steel or aluminium, or steel plate accurately to near-laser quality. On thicker (10-25mm) steel plate NCPlaz will outperform laser cutters, with virtually dross-free finish and far lower gas consumption.
NCPlaz is driven by an on-board lap-top computer, independent of the factory computer system.
Electronics are in a "black box" measuring just 300 x 300 x 100mm. In the event of a system failure, a replacement box can be couriered to the customer for "hot swap" or a spare box can be provided at the time of purchase.
