Training tools from global engineering and logistics automation company, Dematic are helping Australian and New Zealand distribution centres (DCs) get their staff onto Voice solutions faster, easier and more cost-effectively.

Dematic’s Voice training includes Honeywell’s Vocollect RapidStart and Vocollect Academy programs, which offer step-by-step instructional guides and visual support tools for rapid and independent training of DC staff using Voice technology in the warehouse.

RapidStart is a new capability provided with Honeywell’s Vocollect Voice Catalyst software to enable quicker training for new staff and seasonal workers, making it a valuable tool for DCs during peak operational periods. RapidStart eliminates the need for lengthy training by supervisors or other staff members.

Offering comprehensive, end-to-end online training capabilities, Honeywell’s Vocollect Academy enables new and existing warehouse employees to log onto a secure, 24/7 online portal where they are guided through a series of instructional briefings about the practical aspects of using Voice solutions, such as operator use, care, storage and product updates.

Brian Lang, Dematic’s General Manager of Real Time Logistics explains that Dematic is committed to offering training tools that help DCs achieve their productivity goals.

According to Mr Lang, training is an essential component of successfully getting new staff up to speed on a Voice solution so that they can deliver high productivity levels in the shortest possible time. Higher worker productivity will greatly help DC managers facing increasing challenges from a globalised economy, changing supply chain models and industry regulations.
