Chain hoists from Demag Cranes & Components are helping a leading Australian web offset printer keep their production line moving efficiently.
Hannanprint is one of Australia’s most awarded web offset printers, providing large volume commercial printing of catalogues, newspapers and magazine publications.
Hannanprint’s site in Alexandria, Sydney spans 3.8 hectares and holds six heatset web presses as well as a prepress department housing one of the most modern plate exposing units in the world.
Hannanprint depends on an efficient production chain to deliver on their customers’ printing orders. Demag’s KBK and chain hoists are an integral part of the Hannanprint production line as they move paper products throughout the printing process and also play a role in the presses’ maintenance.
Demag chain hoists are used extensively in the pressroom and bindery departments with a normal production cycle for a hoist being as many as 14 cycles per hour. On a daily basis, the Demag systems lift weights from 50kg up to 1000kg.
According to James Vozzo, Development and Site Engineer at Hannanprint, the benefit of the Demag systems is the diversity throughout the business ranging from a localised lifting point to crane systems that work over large areas.
Demag has helped Hannanprint address OH&S problems by reducing the risk of injury, especially when dealing with smaller weight systems.
