Chain and wire rope lubricant
DELTA Industrial Sales has released OKS Germany's revolutionary OKS451 wire rope and chain lubricant. OKS451 utilises OKS's patented Mox-Active technology.
Does not contain solvents.
Mox-Active is the OKS name for an organic form of molybdenum di-sulphide (MoS2) which rather than being a black solid in suspension, is clear and in solution.
It provides all the lubrication benefits of MoS2 but without the down side of the black MoS2, which spreads far and easily, contaminating surfaces and as an oil additive, falling out of suspension.
OKS451 is based on an ISO 300 synthetic oil, has a maximum service temperature of 200°C, and will not gum. In addition to foaming penetrant additives and water dispersants, OKS451 in addition has VCI corrosion inhibitors.
These revolutionary, patented corrosion inhibitors stop electrolysis and therefore corrosion being promoted by the residual water molecules which always occur inside chain and ropes due to condensation or wet conditions.
OKS451 does not contain solvents as many such products do to provide initial low viscosity to aid penetration. OKS451 also has an initial low viscosity but achieves this through advanced technology rather than by the use of solvents.
As some chain and wire rope lubricant contain up to 25% solvent, which is quickly lost by evaporation after application, this a substantial saving.
