THE new Kyman-Net rugged handheld mobile computer is the very latest European technology to be released in Australia from Datalogic .
It is the newest addition to Datalogic's range of mobile@work product family for logistics solutions.
With the introduction of the new Kyman-Net mobile computer, Datalogic has enhanced its mobile@work family of palm and pistol grip mobile computers and vehicle mount terminals.
The range gives Australian businesses a rugged palm mobile computer providing extended wireless communication and a full range of automatic data capture capabilities, using either DOS or Windows CE operating systems.
The mobile computer is designed for typical data collection operations in warehouse management applications, such as inventory, picking, shipping and receiving, or in transportation applications for parcel pick-up and delivery applications, as well as in field service automation.
The Kyman-Net, thanks to its sturdy outer casing, has been designed to resist harsh environments, multiple drops from 1.5m and shocks as well as sub-zero temperatures.
It also comes with powerful long-lasting Li-ION batteries and a large, bright colour display with touch screen and anti-glare/anti-scratch protection.
This brand new, rugged handheld computer is based on a powerful Intel X-Scale microprocessor and Windows CE operating system and includes fully integrated automatic data capture capabilities.
It can read linear codes, 2D codes, images and RFID HF-ISO tags, from near contact up to a distance of 10m.
The computer also features fully integrated simultaneous wireless connectivity such as Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and GSM/GPRS technology for both data and voice communication.
The flash memory can be expanded via a Secure Digital standard slot. Two keyboard layouts are possible: numeric/alphanumeric with backlight, for traditional text based applications (such as terminal emulation, through the DL-TCL-NET software client) and most modern web-based solutions (such as Microsoft Internet Explorer via the DL-Locked-Web-Browser application).
The Kyman-Net has the lightest weight of its category on the market and this combined with the excellent ergonomics, reduces operator fatigue with no compromise in terms of reliability and robustness.
