World-leading 3D design software and PLM solutions company Dassault Systemes has announced the acquisition of Safe Technology Ltd., the technology leader in fatigue simulation for predicting product durability.
The acquisition of Safe Technology, based in Sheffield, UK, expands Dassault Systèmes’ 3DEXPERIENCE platform and its realistic simulation applications (SIMULIA), providing one of the most complete and accurate durability prediction solutions on the market.
Developer of the fe-safe durability simulation application suite, Safe Technology has more than 500 customers including General Motors, Caterpillar Inc., Cummins Inc., Emerson Climate Technologies, Honda Jets, Harley Davidson Motor Company and Hyundai Motors.
Bernard Charlès, President and CEO, Dassault Systèmes explains that durability deeply affects the emotional attachment between brands and their users. The 3DEXPERIENCE platform is all about building brand loyalty for a company’s business and its products, which is why Safe Technology is such a good fit for Dassault Systèmes.
He adds that advanced fatigue and durability software solutions are an essential part of the product design process. Safe Technology will enhance Dassault Systèmes’ SIMULIA structural simulation to predict and analyse product life quickly and accurately.
Founder and CEO of Safe Technology, John Draper comments that the two companies have been working closely for more than 15 years, developing cutting edge technology for a global customer base. He adds Dassault Systèmes is committed to keeping fe-safe at the forefront of fatigue technology as well as to delivering an open solution that supports all the leading FEA solvers.
According to Mr Draper, acceleration of product development, integration of fatigue solutions into designer-orientated software tools and a high quality global support network are critical to their growth plans; being part of Dassault Systèmes and its SIMULIA team will enhance Safe Technology’s ability to achieve all three objectives.
