A wide range of industries from plastics to print can benefit from high efficiency multi-axis machines when using the B&R ACOPOSmulti solution.

The APC820 'PC in a drive' integrates the highest level of PC performance into ACOPOSmulti, thus allowing the user to achieve maximum performance while freeing up space in the switching cabinet that was intended for the PC.

With the APC820's Core 2 Duo processors a high level of performance and low level of power loss are achieved because Windows XP and the real-time operating system run parallel to each other on separate processor cores.

Entirely new options and complex automation tasks that were once distributed over several system platforms, such as controller or Windows computer, are now brought together in a single device with the APC820, a project that is easily developed in B&R Automation Studio. With the integrated Smart Display Link in the APC820, up to four automation panels can be connected over a distance of up to 160 m. Complex processes on physically separated machines can also be easily controlled on site.

A wide range of onboard interfaces allows the APC820 to be optimally integrated in an automation system. Real-time communication between the APC820, I/Os and drives occurs on POWERLINK interface, which also comes standard.

The two Gigabit Ethernet interfaces provide machine level communication that is totally separate from the connection to the company network. There is an additional CAN interface available for the connection of other devices.

In addition to these functions, the APC820 'PC in a drive' was designed for the toughest environments. No internal cable connection usage during construction has made it possible to achieve maximum vibration resistance and operational safety for the APC820. CompactFlash cards completely free of moving parts are the storage medium used, which are also optimal for use in Windows XP professional as well as Windows XP embedded.
DAANET own the Australian distribution rights to Bernecker & Rainer (B&R) products.
