Hirschmann Industrial Ethernet has added a Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) module to their MICE range of modular ethernet switchgear.
This module, which has four RJ45 ports (10/100 Mbit/s) can be used to transmit data as well as for powering up to four end devices such as IP telephones, network cameras or WLAN access points in accordance with IEEE 802.3af.
A maximum of six PoE modules per MICE switch can be used.
The PoE modules which are designed for an operating temperature of 0 to +60 or -40 to +70 degrees Celsius (EEC version) can be installed by the plug & play principle and can also be changed during operation by a hot swap function.
The current status of the network connections is displayed by LEDs on the front.
The MICE switches provide up to 370 Watts for power over Ethernet depending on the electrical output of the external power supply unit.
The operating software ensures a convenient power management.
The MICE switches, Hirschmann’s modular platform, designed for mounting on DIN rails, support both Fast and Gigabit Ethernet and various routing, redundancy and security methods.
They are therefore particularly suitable for use in industrial networks with complex applications such as a combined transmission of video, audio and data information.
