DAANET announces a new training partnership between Belden Automation and RMIT that will deliver certified Hirschmann Industrial Ethernet training to the Australian and NZ markets. Industrial Ethernet is a key enabling technology for automation, process and transport infrastructure networks.

Daanet has delivered quality Hirschmann Industrial Ethernet solutions for over eight years through its member-distributors around Australia.

RMIT will deliver the Hirschmann-certified training courses for the Australian and New Zealand markets. The training will be held on-site anywhere in Australia and New Zealand, as well as on-campus at RMIT.

Daanet Director Armin Fahnle says that by introducing RMIT to Hirschmann manufacturers Belden Automation, Daanet has promoted a partnership that will competently deliver high quality industry training on Industrial Ethernet.

Senior educator in RMIT’s School of Engineering (TAFE), Bruce Kendall commented that Industrial Ethernet was a rapidly evolving technology for networking and communication, vital to a range of industries including oil and gas, metals and mining, water, food, road, rail and air transportation, power, manufacturing, and building automation.

RMIT will offer training on the Hirschmann platform, allowing students to obtain certification as a Hirschmann Industrial Systems Engineer (HiSE) or Hirschmann Industrial Network Engineer (HiNE).

Adam Callender, marketing director, Belden Asia Pacific says that Industrial Ethernet extends beyond the physical attributes of data communication equipment.

A successful implementation requires knowledge surrounding total lifecycle from the physical and logical design, component selection, engineering and configuration, installation and testing, operations and maintenance, disaster recovery and expansions/upgrades.

Mr Callender added that Belden chose to partner with RMIT because of its ability to deliver excellent education and training with a practical focus. The addition of the Hirschmann training modules reinforces RMIT’s role in providing industrial and IT training on behalf of a range of various telecommunications, IT and software providers.
