CROWN Equipment has added a model to its RR 5200 Series of rider reach trucks that are capable of fast lift speeds, fast travel speeds and large lift capacities, at very high elevations, while retaining operator control and comfort.
The RR 5280S has several critical aspects of its operation that adjust automatically when the unit's sensors and monitors deem it necessary.
This creates a control synergy between driver and lift truck to increase safety and productivity by accounting for individual nuances of each and every driver.
For instance, travel speeds are automatically reduced if travelling forks-first, or with the load backrest above collapsed height. Lowering speeds are also reduced depending on load weight.
A capacity monitor knows at all times the approximate load weight and indicates the maximum height the load can be placed. This keeps operators and floor staff safe while ensuring stock is handled without damage.
As with other models in the RR 5200 series, the 5280S has Crown's Integrated Control System that knows which way the truck is travelling and whether the unit is loaded or empty. Performance profiling allows speeds to be chosen at one of three different settings.
An expanded foot well allows three optional operator stance positions depending on what job is being performed and what angle of view is needed: seated, lean position, and stand-up position.
Operators have more room to move due to a large operator compartment space and floor-board. Adjustable seat, backrest, arm rest, steering tiller and multi-task control handle optimise the comfort level for each operator.
For better entry and exit, these Rider Reach Trucks have a lower step height for safer and faster entry and exit.
An optional rack height select and tilt positioning improves load handling tasks at greater heights.
All-round visibility of fork tips is possible even at height. The easy to use multifunction control handle incorporates travel, raise, lower, tilt, horn and optional side shift.
A high visibility mast is achieved by combining nested mast rails, efficient component routing, bevelled edges on the overhead guard and specially angled tie bars.
