won a contract to supply pallet racking to QPH Industries, a major Victorian importer and distributor of a comprehensive range of plumbing products, bathroom fittings and kitchen appliances.
QPH decided to set up a new warehouse facility housing 1,600 selective pallet racking positions in the Melbourne suburb of Sunshine West to cater for increased stock holdings. An existing Crown Equipment customer, QPH was unaware that Crown had recently added a racking division to its material handling products set.
While discussing QPH’s requirements for extra lift trucks for the new warehouse facility, the Crown representative outlined the capabilities of their Crown Warehouse Solutions division including racking supply.
According to Tim Wood, General Manager at QPH, it was a potential opportunity to consolidate the number of major suppliers the company used. Given their existing relationship, it made sense to go with Crown if the company could match or beat the price and quality of QPH’s existing racking supplier.
Not only did Crown come back with a cheaper price, but they also offered a very attractive lease option that provided QPH with significant financial advantages. Tim described Crown’s offer including the finance package as a ‘one-stop-shop solution’ with everything coming from the one company.
The work was carried out on time, to budget and to QPH’s expectations.
According to Tim, every stage of the contract, from the initial discussion to the tender process and all the way through to final installation was handled professionally.
Brett Stewart, GM – Crown Warehouse Solutions explains that the opportunity to consolidate lift truck and racking suppliers into a single company makes a lot of sense to their customers, saving them valuable time and money.
