Under their Crompton Instruments brand, Tyco Electronics have released a new Tegra multi-function digital metering system (DMS) available in both compact 72mm x 72mm panel-mount and 4-module DIN-rail mounted cases for all low and medium voltage switchgear and distribution systems.
Benefiting from its compact design and new enclosure options, the Tegra multi-function DMS displays up to 57 electrical parameters including kWh, and it also complements the Integra series of digital metering systems. The Tegra DMS is suitable for single-phase, three-phase 3-wire and 3-phase 4-wire applications.
Tegra 710 and Tegra 810 multi-function DMS devices display true RMS values. Tegra 710 and Tegra 810 multi-function DMS devices have selectable CT and VT ratios and monitor current, voltage, power factor, phase angle, active/reactive energy, and frequency values, which will satisfy all electrical energy metering requirements for Green Star and Nabers rated installations. The simple menu-driven interface offers three reading modes (phase parameters, system parameters and maximum parameter values).
Featuring LCD displays with backlight control, the interface programme buttons enable simple programming of CT and VT ratios settings, configuration of selected communication options and adjustment of operating parameters. Two output options are available for the Tegra multi-function DMS such as, the relay output option, which includes two independently programmable relay outputs (2A, 250V) that can be configured to produce either a pulsed output or can be individually programmed to be associated to the measured parameters, for example, operating value, latching, alarm mode, relay operating mode, set-point value, differential value or relay activation delay.
The RS485 communication port option for direct connection to SCADA systems using the Modbus RTU protocol enables users to record system parameters in real time, using high resolution numbers with no scaling factor required.
