One-chip UART PCI Express board launched by Moxa and CrispTech
Moxa are the first to use the new one-chip PCIe-UART technology. The one-chip UART PCI Express board has been launched in the Australian market by CrispTech. One-chip PCIe boards are specially designed for higher MTBF and performance, featuring a 33% increase in throughput and 48% decrease in CPU loading.
In addition to high performance, Moxa's new PCI Express board models also provide users with a baudrate of up to 921.6 Kbps and 15 KV ESD protection for greater reliability. Instead of requiring users to open the chassis to set DIP switches and jumpers manually, Moxa provides them with a convenient software solution for configuring the serial interface and terminal resistors.
One-chip solutions optimise CPU performance. This highly integrated chip combines the PCIe bridge and PCI-UART on one chip. By incorporating this technology, the PCI Express boards are a better version than traditional boards that use separate chips for the PCIe bridge and PCI-UART.
No DIP switches or jumpers:
With this new PCIe-UART, users can configure the serial interface and terminal resistor by software instead of using a DIP switch and jumper. The absence of a DIP switch and jumper also makes these new PCIe boards more user-friendly and easy to maintain, as there is no need to open the computer case to adjust the settings manually. Furthermore, the new design reduces manufacturing time and costs since fewer components are required.
Onboard LED for easy maintenance:
Moxa's Multiport serial boards have onboard LED indicators to clearly indicate data transmit and receive status. This is particularly helpful for users if they are troubleshooting without opening the chassis.
Drivers galore:
The new PCI Express boards support a wide range of drivers for desktop solutions (Windows 2000, XP/Vista x86/x64) and server solutions (Windows 2003/2008 with certification). Crisptech also provide drivers for Linux, SCO Open Server 5/6 and UnixWare.
