Multiport serial board
MOXA Technologies has released the CP-118U, an eight-port, RS-232/422/485 smart serial board that features the Moxa Turbo Serial Engine, with a 128-byte FIFO buffer and burst data mode. These features decrease CPU loading and allow the CP-118U to transmit data bidirectionally at speeds up to 921.6Kbps a port. This allows a throughput of over 700 Kbps for eight-port RS-232 applications.
Eight RS-232/422/485 serial ports, 921.6 kbps, 128-byte FIFO, PCI and PCI-X compatible.
The CP-118U accepts 3.3V/5 V Universal PCI and single 5V dc power inputs, allowing it to fit into the majority of standard and compact-sized host computers used in POS, retail, hospitality, and other industrial automation applications. It also features 15kV ESD surge protection to meet the requirements of industrial automation applications. It supports a variety of connector options (DB9, DB25, RJ45 cables, and external wiring boxes), making itsuitable for most wiring environments.
In addition to CP-118U, Moxa provides 2/4/8 RS-232/422/485 multiport serial boards (UPCI V2). Models available include the CP-168U V2, CP-104UL V2, CP-104JU V2, CP-134U V2, CP-134U-I V2, CP-132UL V2, and CP-132UL-I V2.
