CrispTech and Moxa have released the new DA-681 x86-based embedded computer. The DA-681 is a tailored embedded system for power automation. Powerful embedded computing platform is suitable for power substation automation. The DA-681 embedded computers are based on the Intel x86 processor designed for power substation applications.
The DA-681 embedded computers support the following:
- VGA
- 6 Ethernet ports
- 4 RS-232 and 8 RS-485 serial ports with digital isolation
- CompactFlash
- USB
The DA-681 embedded computer features multiple serial ports and LANs for network redundancy. The DP and PP models are also equipped with dual power for power redundancy. The patented "L-type" heat dissipation mechanism is exclusive to Moxa and offers better thermal efficiency. With a standard 19-inch, 1U high form factor and rack mountable design, the DA-681 makes a suitable platform for substation automation.
The DA-681 embedded computer runs Linux, WinCE 6.0, or Windows XP Embedded (pre-installed), providing a friendly environment for developing sophisticated application software. The great software support that Moxa provides makes the programmer's job easy, and helps programmers to develop bug-free code at a lower cost.
All of Moxa's embedded computers come with the operating system pre-installed. In addition, middleware, sample code, and tools are provided to give programmers a user-friendly environment for application development, minimising the effort for system integration.
