Rust hinders the operation of bearings and compromises their longevity. Quality greases are designed to protect the bearing from rust and corrosion. Emcor Grease Testing Machines can test the quality of greases.
Emcor Grease Testing Machines from Particle Test measure the ability of a grease to protect bearings from corrosion when water is present. Two sets of grease-coated bearings per station are partially immersed in water and rotated at 80 rpm in running and resting periods. After the test, the raceways of the bearing outer rings are checked for rust.
The Emcor Grease Testing Machines are versatile. Both greases and oils can be tested, and variations can be made with regard to the test medium. The cost for running these tests is low. Only the two test bearings have to be renewed for each test, and the polyamide material for the housing is rigid and strong and rarely needs to be changed.
The Emcor Grease Testing Machines conform to ASTM D6138, IP 220, DIN 51802, and related international test methods.
