Cormack Packaging will launch the 2009 Innovation Awards. Damien Azzopardi, the 2008 recipient of the Cormack Innovation Awards informs that he has visited closure inspection stations on production lines, assisted in the repairs of multi-million dollar moulds alongside engineers, customer meetings, and was given access to the guidance of the Cormack Packaging innovation design and engineering team in redesigning his winning project.
Each day has presented Damien a new opportunity to expand his design skills and to gain commercial and manufacturing experience to equip him with the necessary tools to be a successful designer in the industrial design field.
Students who have experienced the university programme first hand have commented on the benefits that they gained from being able to complete a factory tour at Cormack Packaging’s Condell Park site in Sydney. As a winner of the 2008 Innovation Awards, Damien was excited to get familiar with injection moulding process.
In 2009, Cormack Packaging will extend the university programme to a number of new universities across Australia, increasing the number of talented students who will gain access to the Cormack packaging staff while connecting them with their customers throughout a number of industries.
