Web-based SCADA system for pump stations
CORKE Instrument Engineering has released Multitrode's PumpView web-based SCADA monitoring system aimed at municipal water and wastewater authorities.
Monitoring and control of pump stations with traditional SCADA usually requires a high commitment on the part of a municipal organisation due to its complexity. PumpView offers municipal organisations SCADA as a Web-based service. The system offers full control and monitoring of pumps as well as resetting of alarms.
There is no software to install, no servers to purchase, no engineers to commission the system and no radio repeaters. The only IT requirement is for users to have a web browser and an internet connection. The first site can be up and running in a few hours.
Municipal operations staff are able to see an overview of their network of pump stations and view and acknowledge the alarms throughout the system. They can see detailed site information, including levels, specific faults and accumulators.
Alarms can go to mobile phones or by email to a number of operational staff in rotation. Alarms can be acknowledged by mobile phone, email or the web page. Historical data is stored and available to users.
The system is priced on a per site per month basis and there is no requirement to commit to any contract. The monthly charge includes all data communication over the cellular network, the software service and a number of SMS alarms.
