Cordell Building Information Services, Australia’s premier provider of construction information for the past 34 years has changed its name to Reed Construction Data.
The move would not alter the structure or personnel of the company, which will continue to provide innovative information products and services to its customers, which includes major construction firms, developers, subcontractors, architects, and manufacturers and distributors of building products.
The name change to Reed Construction Data, which takes effect from July 1, reflects the parentage of Cordell, which since May 2000 has been a wholly owned subsidiary of Reed Business Information, which itself is part of the global Reed Elsevier group.
Reed Business Information is the world wide leader in business information publishing with extensive operations in Australia, Asia, Europe and North America.
In Australia, Reed publications servicing the building and construction sectors include InfoLink The Book, dialinfolink.com.au, Building Product News (BPN), InfoLink Architecture, Construction Contractor, Manufacturers Monthly and Factory Equipment News (FEN).
The Reed Construction Data group, besides operating in Australia, has businesses in North America, Canada, Mexico, Sweden, Finland, Norway, Denmark and Estonia.
While the company brand will change in Australia, individual products will retain their Cordell names, such as Cordell Estimator, and will continue to be delivered to customers in the same reliable timely fashion as they have been since 1969. The Cordell product names will now be given more prominence under the Reed corporate name.
According to Cordell Building Information Services, as Reed Construction Data, it will continue to be respected, up to the minute provider of marketing intelligence and business development opportunities to the Australian construction industry. The name change will not affect Cordell Building Information Services’ management operations or its strong commitment to local clients, suppliers and partners. This commitment is and will remain the cornerstone of the service Cordell Building Information Services provides.
Cordell Building Information Services’ respected products and services will continue. Customers can expect to see the same or an improved provision of these. Just as important, the products and services will be delivered by the same people, who in the past have assisted customers to gain benefit from their investment in Cordell.
The global alignment with Reed companies is already benefiting Cordell by providing:
- Access to a global information pool
- The financial backing of a large international company
- Access to global best practice business procedures, including customer focus
- An ability to anticipate market changes earlier.
Being part of such a substantial and respected group gives Cordell a robust market intelligence gathering capability as well as greater access to new developments in cutting edge product delivery technologies.
The name change will be an opportunity for Cordell Building Information Services to coordinate and refresh its corporate and product image, regaining consistency across all divisions. Cordell Building Information Services will also take the opportunity to enhance its range of Cordell information products.
Cordell has been providing information on construction projects and construction costs to its Australian customers since 1969. Tried, tested and proven, Cordell’s information helps customers pinpoint profitable business opportunities, where and when they are needed.
