On 1 June 2007, ConvaTech and its employees achieved a major milestone - reaching 1 year Lost Time Injury (LTI) free.
To celebrate this notable achievement the company held a celebratory BBQ at Hunter Valley Gardens on Sunday 9 September 2007 for all employees and their families. The day was a great success with a jumping castle and clowns for the kids and the chance to catch up with fellow employees and their families in a non-work setting.
Approximately 130 people attended the event and whilst there were many employees unable to make it, everyone there on the day enjoyed themselves immensely. The day culminated with speeches from Peter Slattery, Craig Philpotts and Steve Houston, who all spoke of the importance that this achievement holds from both a commercial sense and from a company and employee welfare perspective.
Ross VanDyke and Justin Nimmo responded on behalf of employees - speaking of the genuine commitment all employees have to build on this achievement and strive for zero Medical Treatment Injuries (MTI).
