Somar appoints Australian distributor


CONTROL Supplies has been appointed authorised distributor for the Somar Powerboss range of soft starters and protection products in Australia.

A full range of single-phase and three-phase soft starters will be marketed in Australia.

The range includes single-phase controllers up to 3kW in compact form or custom built to customer requirements, used extensively in refrigeration units, cold storage freezers, fans, and blowers.

The three-phase controllers are available from 4kW up to 650kW in 380V/415V/690V, with soft start and soft stop features.

A microprocessor unit fine tunes the motor to the controller which can save energy and cut cost in electrical consumption.

When used in the right applications, Powerboss can save time and money on maintenance cost and breakdowns.

Also available is a 1000V controller for mining applications.
