Side-mounted liquid level switch

CONTROL Components has announced a new high temperature version of the Gems LS-7 Series side-mounted liquid level switches for use in small vessels where top or bottom switch mounting is not practical.

Gems LS-7 Series level switch.

Constructed in Versaplast, a material manufactured by Gems, the new models handle temperatures up to +150°C - which is 50% more than other plastic switches in the LS-7 range.

Versaplast is compatible with water, oils and chemicals. The switches are ideal for high volume use in small tanks including food processing, medical equipment, engine oils and water purifiers. This LS-7 is also an ideal replacement for stainless steel units.

Competitively priced and durable, the Versaplast LS-7 provides accurate and repeatable switching for high, low or intermediate level sensing.

Mounting is through 1/2” BSP ports. The full range of operating temperatures is -40°C to +150°C with pressures to 7 bar at 20°C.

Operation is straightforward and directly related to movement of a liquid's surface.

Depending on the mounting position, as the float rises or lowers with liquid level, a magnetic field is moved into the proximity of a reliable, hermetically sealed reed switch within the housing thereby causing switch actuation.

By rotating the switch 180 degrees, the switch operation can be Normally Open or Normally Closed. Arrows on the exterior of the mounting indicate N.O. when pointing up. Units are supplied with 600mm lead wires.

Gems offers many other versions within the LS-7 Series, including internally or externally mounted units, and those made of polypropylene, nylon or metals.
