Paddle flow switch with a difference
THE Gems FS-550 liquid paddle flow switch, available from Control Components , differs from most paddle type flow switches in that it does not rely on the paddle bending or flexing in the flow.

The FS-550 has a unique patented cam design that ensures low pressure drops (a maximum of 20 kPa) and does not require bellows, seals or mechanical linkages.
It has a minimum in line restriction that moves out of the liquid path with increasing flow. The paddle itself is spot welded to the cam assembly to remove the risk of the paddle dislodging.
The 5" long paddle can be trimmed to suit the pipe line size and to permit switch actuation at the desired flow rate.
The FS-550 is suited for high flow applications other flow switches can't cope with. It is available in a brass or 316 stainless steel body.
It has high pressure and temperature ratings of 13,700kPa and minus 30 to +148°C.
The switch is a hermetically sealed SPDT magnetic reed switch. It can be supplied with an IP65 aluminium terminal enclosure or IP67 stainless steel enclosure.
