Moulded polypropylene flow switches
CONTROL Components has released the Gems FS-380P flow switch series. The moulded polypropylene inline design is tolerant of particulates and is not susceptible to sticking. The internal design provides low pressure drop and convenient mounting in any attitude.
Fixed set points ranging from 1L/min to 7.6L/min.
Operating pressures extend to 8.6 bar at 21°C and 3.4 bar at 100°C. The switches are made of USFDA-compliant materials. The range has fixed set points ranging from 1L/min to 7.6L/min and accuracy is within 20% of the set point. The flow switch is suited to cooling protection on laser, semiconductor equipment, welders, chillers, and for water treatment/chemical distribution systems.
Designers have a choice of port connections, including 3/8-inch MNPT or quick disconnect ports with a broad selection of mating connectors including NPT, BSP, barb and tube connections. The quick disconnect selection also includes John Guest connectors, each available with an integral shutoff valve.
While the housings are moulded of polypropylene, the pistons are PPS composite. Other wetted parts include 316 stainless steel and fluorocarbon O-rings. The complete flow switch is 107mm long and switch action is SPST 10 VA, terminated with 609.6mm, 22 AWG wire leads. The flow switches carry the UL and CSA Pending approvals.
