Control Components have announced that Kayden Instruments of Alberta Canada have appointed Control Components as Australian distributors for their range of thermal dispersion technology products. The thermal dispersion technology is used to detect fluid flow in a pipe line and to detect flow, level, interface or temperature with application to air, gases, water, liquids, hydrocarbons and slurries.
Kayden Instruments offer the Classic 800 series. Kayden Instruments’ switches use advanced microprocessor-controlled electronics and include built-in self diagnostics or RS485 communications capabilities. The Classic 800 series of switches has a 4 to 20mA output as standard, dual SPDT relay contacts and an adjustable bypass delay timer.
The internal panel displays the status of process conditions. The Classic 800 series of switches is suitable for on/off applications and complex control strategies.
Kayden Instruments’ line of switches is based on the thermal dispersion principle of operation. The Classic 800 series of switches is suitable for oil and gas industries in Alberta Canada.
There are no moving parts to fail and no mechanical trim pots to adjust. Though often referred to as a thermal dispersion flow switch, thermal flow switch, liquid flow switch or Modbus flow switch, Kayden Instruments’ switches can be used in level and interface applications. Kayden Instruments’ switches are suitable for the following level applications:
- tank high and low level alarms
- wet/dry alarm
- applications involving flow alarms
- interface control, especially those requiring an oil water interface switch
Kayden Instruments’ switches are also used in pump protection, seal leak detection, and flow/no flow applications. Kayden Instruments’ Classic 800 and Basic+400 models of switches can be used as either a flow switch, level switch or interface switch. There is no need to specify the switch function at the time of order.
The Classic or Basic+ can be installed as a flow switch and configured by the customer to be a level controller. Kayden Instruments’ switches come with an array of sensor sizes, materials and configurations including insertion and in-line, threaded, flanged and retractable packing gland styles or tri-clamp flange types for food applications.
