Besta Float Level Switches still the Best
Product/Service Name
Besta Float switches and Chambers.
Function/ApplicationsBesta float switches are used the world over in heavy industry applications including offshore oil and gas rigs, chemical and petrochemical plants, power plants and a myriad of manufacturing and process applications. Float switches enjoy a leadership role in the shipping industry being certified by key organisations like Bureau Veritas, Lloyds Register, American Bureau of Shipping, DNV and others.
Besta hazardous area level switches are ATEX certified and are currently under evaluation for IECEx approval.
Besta Float Level Switches are used wherever liquids are stored. The Standard range of float level switches is rated for use up to 25 bar up to 300 Deg C. The Industrial Level Switches are available with ANSI, BS, DIN or JIC flanges with pressure ratings up to ANSI Class 2500. Flange materials include 316L, Hastelloy C and plastic models have Polypropylene or PTFE ( option pure PTFE ) sealing units.
The electrical switch modules use microswitches and the pneumatic module versions are available as either On-Off or Proportional / Modulating types.
Besta also provide float chambers where the user wants to install the switch external to the vessel. Cast iron chambers are to PN16 bar and fabricated chambers are built in various steel qualities and types to PN315 according to DIN or class 2500 according to ANSI.
Differentiating FeaturesBesta's signature benefit is reliability. It is second to none. Besta's unique Tri-Mod ( 3 modules ) design based around the (1) Switch Module, (2) Flange Module and (3) Float Module enables an almost limitless set of combinations of constructions. Housings are standard to IP65, but IP67 or IP68 may be chosen. The seawater resistant aluminium alloy housing is standard, but epoxy coated, chromated or full stainless steel is available.
Wetside flanges and floats are stainless steel as standard. If the environment is corrosive, options include Hastelloy C or high quality plastics.
Standard variations include adjustable differentials, boot protectors for liquids with solids in suspension, high ( 400 Deg C ) and low ( - 196 Deg C ) temperature modules, carbon and stainless steel mounting counterflanges.
Control Components carry extensive inventory of all the popular models and have distributors throughout Australia and New Zealand.
