CONTROL Automation has developed a system for conveying powders and injecting them into a liquid mixing tank below the surface of the water. It is based on the Kockums Microveyor. The Microveyor system is built for transfer rates from 1t/h to 4t/h.

The standard unit is epoxy painted mild steel or stainless steel. It may be connected directly to a hopper or silo. The standard model is the KM50. This unit will achieve 1200kg/h to 2600kg/h rate, for a typical 10m to 50m run in a 50mm NB line for a product of medium density. The KM 25 is designed for low conveying rates, delivering rates up to 400kg/h.

The Microveyor is designed to work from clean, dry, instrument-quality air at 5 to 7 bar. It may also operate from small pneumatic conveying compressors or blowers if insufficient instrument-quality air is available. No powder cyclone/separator is required and excellent powder dispersion is obtained as it is entrained with air as it enters the water. Material can be conveyed up to 100m and conveying rates from 0.5kg/h to 4000kg/h are available. Metering can be accomplished by mass, volume or timed pulse and air consumption is less than 700L/min. The system is suitable for conveying and metering products like sugar, salt, calcium carbonate, lime, activated carbon, soda ash, iron salts, silicates and sugar, where the product is to be dissolved, or made into a slurry.
