Wrapper capable of 100-plus pallets an hour
CONTRACT Packaging Systems (CPS) will launch one of the world's fastest stretch wrappers at AUSPACK 2005. The Mancon machine is capable of wrapping 100 pallets an hour and it will be the first time it is exhibited in Australia.
While the pallet remains stationary, so light and unstable loads can be wrapped at high speed, the carriage spins around it at up to 40 revolutions per minute.
The unit has a large carbon fibre composite ring at its heart, which CPS says is lighter, stronger and offers a more positive drive and lower maintenance.
The Mancon has all the features of a top of the range stretch wrapper, including an integrated automatic top sheet applicator and eight wrapping programs.
Film changeover is fast, but for virtually non-stop operation, a multiple carriage facility is available. The Mancon also boasts patented infrared technology for high-speed maintenance-free stretch film seaming and film cut off.
The Mancon accepts 500mm width films, with the option of carriages to accommodate 750mm widths, and the electronically controlled motorised prestretch system can be set to vary from 150% to 300% stretch.
Buyers of the Mancon unit will be offered a choice of PLC and automation components to suit their operations, although Siemens controllers are standard.
The Mancon wrapper is housed in a demountable frame for easier installation and a smaller footprint, which CPS says is an important benefit for packaging lines with limited floor space.
CPS says the Mancon unit may steal the show at AUSPACK, which is being held 11-14 October. The packaging equipment supplier will also have its extensive range of carton erectors, labelling machines, sealers and wrappers on display at stand 240.
CPS has also recently become the Australian supplier of the Siat range of Columbia strapping tools.
