Aquasensors’ smart instrumentation electrodes known as DataSticks contains pH electrode with direct communications to PLCs using MODBUS RTU protocol.
The smart DataStick pH electrode is made of three parts:
- A programmable pH sensing head with built in differential pH measurement and Temperature compensation
- The smart DataStick main body with its internal microprocessor
- The MODBUS RTU communications adapter
When connecting the pH DataStick to a PLC there is no need for 4-20mA analogue transmitters or analogue input modules. The measured data is transferred between the pH smart electrode and the PLC over RS485 communications lines.
The pH sensor heads can be pre-calibrated in the lab by FOC software utility. There is no need to repeat calibration in the field. pH (compensated) and raw Temperature signals are available as serial data for the PLC.
A built in signal filter can be programmed to filter out both pH and Temperature signals between 0 and 100 seconds. Power requirement is between 10VDC to 30VDC.
AquaSensors can be interfaced to any PLC or SCADA system via MODBUS RTU or other communications interface protocols.
