The Compact fibre optic rotary joint
Conductix-Wampfler Australia  provide the compact fibre optic rotary joint for data transmission at motor cable reels. The overall dimension of the motor cable reel is reduced by 70% due to the compact design and the optimised mounting of the new fibre optic rotary joint. This construction makes the fibre optic rotary joints suitable for high speed applications.

Non-interrupted fibre optic cores and standard connectors provide continuous data transmission with low attenuation values far below 3dB.

The use of quality plastic, nickel-plated steel and terminal boxes made of stainless steel (IP65) ensure high corrosion protection in aggressive atmosphere. The fibre optic rotary joint is limited in the number of revolutions due to the use of a continuous cable.

The standard product range includes fibre optic rotary joint with 40, 60, 90 and 120 of maximum possible turns capable of covering up to 1.5km of travel lengths.

Another advantage is the option of 6, 12 or 18 cores in single mode or multi mode as standard. A combination of single and multi mode cores within one fibre optic rotary joint is also possible.
