In the first half of 2009, during the depths of the GFC, Conductix-Wampfler showed its commitment to the Australian mining and manufacturing industry by expanding its primary manufacturing facility in Melbourne. This expansion followed soon after a relocation of the Conductix-Wampfler Western Australian operations to larger premises in Perth’s Maddington, where products are warehoused and assembled.
Most recently Conductix-Wampfler has been manufacturing cable and hose reels for new Stackers for Worsley Alumina being constructed by F. L. Smidth. As explained by Mark Howlett, Conductix-Wampfler’s Managing Director, “The expansion of our factory has enabled us to manufacture these 4 reels to the exacting and quite specific standards demanded by the customer, while maintaining our manufacturing efficiency. Our expanded Perth facility also provides the customer with greater options of having some assembly or final inspection performed locally. With engineering, steel welding, general manufacturing, electrical fitting and testing all performed within our Australian organization, we are in a strong position to offer customers high quality customized solutions”.
