Concentric Asia Pacific organise workshop on Motion Capture with Haption technology
An international expert at the forefront of utilising motion capture (mocap) technology for engineering and manufacturing is coming to Melbourne to host two workshops on Thursday, August 28th at the Toyota Australia plant at Altona.
Frenchman Jerome Perret is the founder of the Haption and the creator of Virtuose real-time embedded software. He is a guest of Concentric Asia Pacific that has a specialist business unit focused on simulation for business.
Jerome Perret is an engineer who has specialised in software development and robotics, working for Cybernetix on military and nuclear projects all over the world before leaving to create his own business.
Through an agreement with the French research agency CEA (for customers like PSA Peugeot Citroën, EADS, Volkswagen, Toyota, Lockheed Martin Aeronautic and Dassault Aviation) Haption developed Virtuose software combined with patented 6D force-feedback virtual reality technology to address the issues of product validation and model development time.
Motion capture technology has been used in the movie industry for years, especially in the area of special effects and computer generated animation and now it is making an impact on the world of engineering and manufacturing.
Whether one is designing, simulating or animating, Haption offer solutions to work more efficiently within one’s own software (be it CATIA, DELMIA, SolidWorks, Virtools, or ICIDO).
Haption’s virtual reality solutions range in size and complexity from desktop devices to large-scale interactive immersive environments, like the one Jerome Perret will be demonstrating at Toyota.
