- IP telephones (USB, Ethernet and wireless)
- Integrated Access Devices (IADs); and
- Analogue Terminal Adaptors (ATAs)
There has been much discussion regarding the regulatory requirements of IP telephony within Australia, and the ACMA has declared that IP telephones are a standalone with the look and feel of a traditional phone, and can therefore be routed to a switching gateway service. IP telephones are to be A-Ticked as defined by Schedule 1 of the Telecommunications Labelling Notice.
This requirement also applies to USB, Ethernet and Wireless IP telephones that are connected to a computer, ATA or VoIP gateway.
