COMSOL has added two-port switches to the Serverlink Star range, providing an easy way to share one keyboard, mouse and monitor set between two PCs as well as allowing for the switching of audio for multi-media purposes.

There are three models in the range, each has two sets of 1.5m cables mounted on the switch to allow distance between the PCs. LED lights indicate which machine is currently active in the system. A few key strokes switch from one computer to the next, with the option of simultaneous or independent PC and audio switching.

They are suitable for users who have upgraded their PC systems and still want to use their old computers but not invest in a second keyboard, monitor and mouse. They are also used by businesses to save money when one person uses more than one computer and in server farms where it is only necessary to periodically access each server one at a time.

The entry-level SL-271-P provides connection for two PS/2 equipped computers, making it suitable for the small business or home-based PC user. The SL-271-C provides connectors for a PS/2 keyboard and mouse on the console side and allows switching between a PS/2 machine and an USB-enabled PC. The SL-271-U is designed to switch between two USB-appointed computers. It is compact and portable. All models in the range provide support for PCs, Mac and iMac, are plug and play and come with all necessary cables and connectors.
