Coates Hire will be supplying a comprehensive range of equipment to construction companies and contractors working on the $7 billion Barangaroo redevelopment project in Sydney.
The Barangaroo redevelopment project is situated on a 22-hectare suburban area in Sydney's east Darling Harbour named in honour of Barangaroo, the second wife of Bennelong, the Aboriginal man renowned for establishing a dialogue between indigenous people and early New South Wales colonists.
The Barangaroo redevelopment project is an exciting Sydney foreshore development that would deliver modern commercial office spaces, residences and parklands to future citizens of the city. Named for Sydney’s past, the $7 billion Barangaroo redevelopment project is squarely aimed at the city’s future and comprises three precincts - Barangaroo South, Barangaroo Central and Headland Park.
The southern third of the site, Barangaroo South will act as an extension of Sydney's CBD with high-rise office buildings, apartments, retail outlets, public spaces and a hotel. Barangaroo Central will contain low-rise residential, commercial and civic buildings while the 6-hectare Headland Park on the north of the site will feature a reconstructed, naturalistic headland based around the pre-1836 shoreline.
Over the 10-year development, the Barangaroo site is expected to host 3,000 workers each day from the numerous construction companies, contractors and subcontractors involved in the project.
Coates Hire has set up a project site facility to supply portable buildings, access equipment, general tools and equipment, pumping and dewatering equipment and high reach access equipment among a wide range of hire equipment to anyone working on the massive and complex project. The project site facility is testament to Coates Hire's superior supply capabilities and the exceptional skills of Coates Hire staff such as John Dwyer who has been working with the company for over 20 years.
According to Stuart King, the Coates Hire Area Manager responsible for northeast Sydney, John Dwyer was hand-picked from among many exceptional Coates Hire staff for the demanding and important role.
Stuart explains that John has an extraordinary skillset, the ability to liaise with anyone from upper management to the guys working on the ground, and the in-depth industry knowledge required to assist with a project of such magnitude.
Having established the Barangaroo site unit in November and already having about 95% of the hire business, Stuart said Coates Hire is prepared for the long haul and raring to meet the challenge of keeping the many contractors and subcontractors happy over the course of the 10-year project.
