Switchcraft power plugs feature a hollow centre pin available in 2.5mm, 2.1mm and 2.0mm diameters. Colour coded tip insulators are used to identify size.
A locking ring provides security in critical applications, with the plugs capable of operating at 5A at 65ºC.
Sleeve terminals serve as cord clamps on the power plug connectors, and a handle boot provides cable strain relief.
Power jacks from Switchcraft can automatically switch over from AC to DC using a sleeve shunt spring.
A split centre pin is shaped to hold a mating plug firmly, and right angle versions offer ‘kinked’ PC terminals for board retention.
An optional IP rated cap can project these power jack connectors when not in use.
Operating at 5A, up to 30V DC at 65ºC, Switchcraft power jacks have a contact resistance of 0.01 Ohms max initially, and 0.02 Ohms after humidity or durability exposure. After contact with salt spray, the jacks have a contact resistance of 0.10Ohms.
Insulation resistance is 10,000 Mohms minimum initially, and 1,000 Mohms after humidity or durability exposure.
The power jack connectors have a dielectric withstanding voltage of 500VAC maximum.
With IP66, IP67 and IP68 / NEMA 250 (6P) ratings when mated, both these varieties of power connectors are suitable for any environment.
