Clarke & Severn Electronics introduces the Omnetics Latching Micro-D Connectors, a robust latching system that replaces the screws and finger release side latches on the Micro-D.
The latching system works in two different ways. The first option involves the latching mechanism built directly into a metal housing that was specifically designed for the latching system.
The second option allows users to retrofit the latching mechanism into existing Micro-Ds. The retrofit involves utilising the standard holes, which are typically made to house the different styles of retention screws.
Omnetics patent pending Latching Micro-D Connectors consist of standard pin counts from 9051 positions and is organised on a 50 mil (1.27mm) pitch. The positive latching process quickly mates and de-mates when required and without the use of tools or the need to unscrew the fastners.
The Onmetics Latching Micro-D Connectors, available from Clarke and Severn Electronics, are designed for a wide variety of applications including instrumentation, medical, avionics and homeland security.
