CITECT has announced the release of Citect Plant2Business V.30, which features the first Historian module to fully support failsafe redundancy that consolidates information from all major HMI/SCADA systems.
These new capabilities make it easy for plant engineers to report, analyse and share plant floor data throughout the enterprise.
Citect Plant2Business V3.0 with Historian allows manufacturers to access and interface with all plant floor data including production, control and maintenance.
This enables them to make better-informed decisions, leading to increased productivity and return on investment, (ROI).
Craig Resnick, director of research at the ARC Advisory Group says "the Historian module integrated into Citect's Plant2Business V3.0 is a powerful tool that gives manufacturers a strong competitive advantage by providing critical analysis and reporting capabilities which allow them to reduce their total cost of ownership and increase their plant's performance".
A unique solution because of its reliability and open, failsafe redundant connectivity to SCADA servers and disparate systems, the Citect Historian module makes it easier for manufacturers to view overall plant information in both real time and historical time.
Quick and non-invasive configuration together with ease-of-use generate extremely fast ROI. Backfilling capabilities allow the Historian to be populated from data already acquired, delivering enterprise-wide benefits immediately.
Tomago plant engineer Garth McDonald said Plant2Business V3.0 was installed at the Tomago aluminum plant in less than an hour.
"The long-term storage reporting capabilities which the Historian module brings allows us to consolidate diverse reporting systems. Moreover, the safe, open storage of our key plant data and streamlined analysis help us comply with industry and EPA regulations".
Plant2Business offers native data access to HMI/SCADA alarm and trend histories as well as to real-time data. This allows the product a greater depth of data repository for analysis, data publication and data transfers to databases such as Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle.
The Historian module is presently bundled as an add-on module with Plant2Business V3.0 as a value-added promotion to manufacturers and will be sold separately at a later date.
