Citect , a global provider of enterprise solutions, has opened a new business unit in Brisbane which will allow the company to accelerate its expansion in the fast-growing Industrial Information Market (IIM).
Creation of the unit has been assisted by an Investment Incentive Scheme Agreement with the Queensland Government Department for State Development and Innovation, which includes financial assistance recruitment and training.
The new unit became operational this week, and is co-located but separate to the Citect regional Queensland office in new premises in Springwood, Brisbane.
With a few core staff in place, the company is now busy recruiting for new positions.
Citect chose to locate its new unit in Queensland rather than offshore in order to maintain its strong Australian identity, to leverage the strong technology skills base which the Queensland government has been fostering through its "Smart State" initiative, and because a number of the key people from the IIM Applications team were already located there.
Citect is a global business solutions provider and leader in industrial automation and information management. In terms of both revenue and market, it is one of the top five multinational Australian-owned technology companies.
