Citect integrate field operations with Schneider Electric
Citect , providers of industrial automation software, are integrating their field operations (sales, professional services and training) team with that of the parent company, Schneider Electric, and have announced plans to further invest in R&D. The changes have been designed to improve services to customers and further strengthen the development of the Citect software suite.
Christopher Crowe, Chief Executive Officer of Citect, feels that the combined expertise of the Citect and Schneider Electric automation field operation teams will give customers simpler and easy access to Citect’s integrated automation solutions, while their increased investment in research and development, and focus on service and support, will further increase the value offered to the customers. Citect were acquired by Schneider Electric in 2006 and since then the companies have achieved an average growth of 20 percent in the SCADA (Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition) business, based on their dual brand strategy encompassing Vijeo Citect and CitectSCADA.
Vijeo Citect, Schneider Electric’s branded version of the CitectSCADA software, was developed by Citect to offer customers the choice of a complete, integrated Schneider Electric hardware and software solution.
Citect will continue to develop both the Vijeo SCADA range as well as the CitectSCADA range in concert with their other software products.
CitectSCADA software will continue to be available from Citect’s network of more than 500 partners located in Asia Pacific, South Africa, Europe and the Americas.
Citect’s expanded R&D programme and their focus on services and support will enable to protect the integrity of the software, both at the development and implementation stages.
