Citect exhibit energy management software systems at the Schneider Electric Initi@tive 2008 event
Citect exhibited a range of energy management software systems at the Schneider Electric Initi@tive 2008: Make the most of your energy event in Las Vegas. The participants in the event discussed on different energy conservation strategies.
Citect also exhibited Schneider Electric SCADA solution, Vijeo Citect, the reporting functionality of Vijeo, Vijeo Historian and Ampla, Manufacturing Execution System (MES), at the event. These software packages help to monitor and control energy usage.
The event included networking and discussion forums that presented new ways and proven solutions to manage, monitor, distribute, automate and control energy across many different industries. Participants and guests gained insights on the energy issues they will face in the future and nominated solutions to help to make use of the energy resources and create sustainable businesses.
John Cavalenes, SCADA Solutions Director, Citect America, presented a session on how to commit to a large SCADA/MES project. Mr Cavalenes argued that coming up with the right ROI case for the project is essential to get it off the ground. He explained that customers who engage in a Discovery Services Study (DSS) are guided through a process that gives the project clear measures of success and ensures the systems implemented will fit the culture and operations of the company. His presentation also illustrated how to make the most of an investment in SCADA.
Paul Cooper, MES Solutions Director, Citect America, hosted a session on asset optimisation. Mr Cooper discussed how Citect’s MES solution, Ampla, can help businesses reduce downtime and maximise the profitability by collating essential production information.
Art Winckler from Covanta Energy presented at one of the customer testimonial sessions. Covanta have implemented CitectSCADA in many of their power plants to replace Bailey Operator interface units. CitectSCADA replicates the look and feel of the Bailey interface so the operators are still working within a familiar environment. The Citect solution is cost effective and provides a modern, sustainable platform that Covanta can reply upon for future expansion and upgrades.
