Citect celebrate 21 years of CitectSCADA at the Citect Connects Oceania User conference


Citect  celebrated 35 years in the real-time intelligence and industrial automation industry at its sixth annual Citect Connects Oceania User Conference, held in August at the Sheraton Mirage in Port Douglas.

The conference included:

  • Keynote presentations from Citect, industry experts and guest speakers
  • Award presentations for customers and partners
  • CitectSCADA’s 21st birthday celebration

  • SP Ausnet

  • City of Baltimore
  • Nestlé
  • New Zealand Sugar
  • Beijer Electronics
Neil Ingham, Operations Superintendent, Rio Tinto Coal Australia, presented the company’s implementation of the production management software. This software is used to monitor plant delays and link other businesses to ensure coal is being loaded and transported efficiently. Ingham also stated that Rio Tinto Coal Australia are receiving benefits from the program, including the ability to share generated information across all business units to optimise the use of plant equipment.

Guest speaker and cricketing legend, Rodney Marsh, entertained the crowd with his view on the future of cricket.

The event also included Technology Speed Dating, four streams of tips and tricks on SCADA and Ampla presented to customers so that they could see how to get the most out of their Citect packages.

Citect presented a number of awards at the conference, honouring its partners and customers for their dedication to the industry and implementation and deployments of Citect packages.

Citect celebrated 21 years of CitectSCADA at the conference. Colin Yamey, Citect's CEO, joined the conference and with Christopher Crowe, toasted Citect, CitectSCADA and the customers and partners who have worked with Citect over the years. These included Electro 80, the first Citect Integration Partner signed up in Australia and Frank Berlangieri from Adelaide Brighton Cement, the first user of CitectSCADA.
