ARC’s report on Schneider and Citect
Schneider and Citect were cited as one of the leading providers of the Human Machine Interface (HMI) software and services in Asia Pacific, by the ARC Advisory Group study on HMI software and services market study. The study provides an in-depth analysis of the worldwide HMI software and services market and has found that the Asia Pacific market will be among the fastest growing regions in the sector. The study also analyses the key issues that will affect this sector in the future.
Citect have increased their share of the HMI software market internationally. This increase has been driven partially by Citect's SCADA products, which are supplied by Schneider Electric, Citect's parent company. The ARC study notes that the HMI software market has experienced a strong growth over the past two years due to the increased focus of HMI software suppliers on technical support and services.
According to ARC, HMI software suppliers are increasing their services for end users and OEMs who require technical support. They also provide different levels and packages of technical support and services to complement the internal structures of the customers.
The ARC study observes that the HMI software is being used as a digital dashboard to show key performance indicators (KPIs), such as overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) for enterprises to generate reports of actual performance versus targets. The worldwide HMI software and services market totalled over US$926 million in 2007 and will be above US$1.4 billion by 2012. The HMI software market will grow at an annual growth rate of more than 9.1% over the next five years, according to ARC.
