Smart partnership at the Smart show
Increasing global competition in the manufacturing sector, particularly from China in the light of the proposed Free Trade Agreement, places a growing emphasis on Australian manufacturers to implement "best practice" systems to maintain competitive advantage.
This was the core reasoning behind the recent announcement of the strategic alliance between enterprise resource planning (ERP) software developer Cincom and warehouse management solutions (WMS) company TallShips . The alliance is indicative of a growing trend by software developers to integrate solutions for their mutual customers.
TallShips' WMS system, PowerHouse/WMS, streamlines a number of procedures, including raw materials inventory management, delivery to multiple production lines, movement through work in progress, intermediate stages, and into finished goods storage and distribution.
Combined with the strengths of Cincom's CONTROL/Priority software, this gives the companies' customers an integrated supply chain solution for end-to-end production.
Paul Hargreaves, managing director of Cincom Australia and New Zealand, and Doug Stracey, managing director of TallShips Solutions, will be available during the SMART 2005 Supply Chain Technology Show to discuss a number of topics, including:
* The real-world benefits for customers from the Cincom/TallShips alliance;
* A live demonstration of the integrated software platform and how it delivers outcomes for just-in-time production; and
* Successful implementations completed by Cincom and by TallShips in Australia and around the world.
Smart 2005 will be held alongside the the Smart Supply Chain Technology Show, on June 1 and 2 at the Sydney Convention Centre.
